Grew up on a farm by Osceola where her family raised hogs when she was younger and then just they went to mainly row crop farming. She had chickens and once in awhile some cows and many farm cats. She also showed hogs for 6 years in 4-H and was active in FFA during high school.
In the fall of 2007 Amanda attended Northeast Community College in the Veterinary Technician program. In the spring of 2010 she achieved a degree of Associates of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. After graduation Amanda went to Hasting where she worked at a small animal clinic for 2 years. In January of 2013, Amanda started at Willow Creek Veterinary Services. She helps with both the small and large animal appointments.
Amanda is married to Sam Prien from Columbus and they both share interests in hunting, camping and just being outdoors. She also enjoys gardening, horseback riding and hanging out with family and friends. They have a beautiful little girl named Emma and a lovable chocolate lab named Drake.
